Go West Young Man (or Doomsday 24) -
Bill: This is a spy-spoof comedy short story first written in 1994, long before
Mike Meyers' Austin Powers series of movies. It's interesting that we came up with many of the same jokes independently, but it just shows I should have tried a little harder, as a few were very obvious satires apparently. However, I throw a lot of straight comedy in there as well, and I hope
Douglas Adams fans will find some similarities (by the way, the elevator scene was based on a geeky experience from my youth that I used as a real off-the-cuff solution in the classic
TSR pen and paper role-playing game, Top Secret) |
