It's not quite to a final version yet,
but
check out Matt Barton's The Initial State, an original text
adventure written in C++. |

Bill Loguidice's 2004
entry for the
The 1st Annual 1 to 2K Classic Text Adventure Competition,
zipped, entitled The Traveler's Keeper.
Bill: It's a .bas file, fully
QBasic
PC compatible (and likely
compatible with other BASIC versions). It was very challenging for
obvious reasons (no entry over 2,816 bytes!), but lots of fun.
Programming is not a talent of mine - which is clear from the entry - but I had fun
whipping up the story and trying to cram as many features as possible
into such a tiny space (which required losing features, but I was still
able to retain the important ones). Anyway, it got a 9 out of 10
and was called "The best 2K competition game thus far!" and "Very
sharp!". |
